Tchaikovsky Concerts in Berlin 2025 & 2026
The compositions of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky can certainly be called iconic, as exemplary as they are for the classical music of Russian Romanticism. Our four ensembles will dedicate themselves to these unique works on various concert evenings at Berlin's most impressive venues.

Tchaikovsky concerts by the ROC in Berlin
Tchaikovsky was a composer whose music achieved international fame during his lifetime—a fame that has endured ever since. And rightfully so: not only "The Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake," not only the Violin Concerto, not only "Eugene Onegin" or the symphonies, but also his chamber music and songs continue to offer listeners incredible musical moments even today. Our four top ensembles regularly bring these moments to life in classical concerts, allowing you to experience them as well.
Tchaikovsky's piano concertos - a global success, an insider tip and a fragment
When you think of Tchaikovsky, you think of ballet. However, his compositions in other genres are also invaluable works that he left to posterity - including his piano concertos, of which he composed three.
The first piano concerto, Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor, op. 23, is one of the best-known and most frequently performed piano concertos. His second piano concerto, the Piano Concerto No. 2 in G major, op. 44, is less well known, but also incredibly virtuosic and grandly conceived.
The third work, the Piano Concerto No. 3 in E flat major, remains a fragment, as Tchaikovsky died suddenly during its composition - under circumstances that are still unclear today. The concerto therefore consists of only one movement, which sounds less melancholy than the first two piano concertos and is more reminiscent of Beethoven than Tchaikovsky's work in its classical clarity.
