The next concerts of our ROC ensembles
ROC Mozart concerts in Berlin
At a wide variety of venues in Berlin, such as the Philharmonie or the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt, the ROC ensembles dedicate their concerts to very special compositions by the exceptional talent Mozart and bring his musical genius to new life.
Mozart - concerts that break boundaries
Mozart opened the doors to the world of the symphony concerto. The piano concerto in particular, also thanks of course to its predecessors - Bach and Haydn in particular - can only really call this name its own with Mozart. His late piano concertos in particular, especially Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, can only be regarded as milestones in the genre.
His works sparkle with playful elegance, but also depth and a lightness of touch - he created over 600 works in the few years of his life, many of which are considered paradigmatic for the genre and are still often performed today.
The Requiem and the Mozart myth
His last work probably made a considerable contribution to the Mozart myth - the Requiem, which the composer wrote in his final days. As the work was commissioned by an anonymous messenger, Mozart did not know for whom he was composing the Requiem - which added to the gloomy premonition that he was writing it for his own death. The Requiem radiates an immensely dramatic power, which our ROC ensembles bring out in the most gripping way in their Mozart concerts
Come and enjoy a Mozart concert in Berlin, which our ensembles will make an unforgettable experience for you with the works of the young-at-heart master Mozart.
