Our chamber music concerts in Berlin 2026 & 2027

“Samtblech” is a brass ensemble founded around four years ago by members of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin: Simone Gruppe (flügelhorn), Anne Mentzen (horn), Hannes Hölzl (euphonium) and Fabian Neckermann (tuba). Rather than loud, virtuosic brass, the ensemble deliberately favours softer instruments such as the flügelhorn and euphonium, to show how elegant and poetic brass music can sound. The programme includes arrangements ranging from Rameau to the Beatles.

The Adamello Quartet was founded by musicians of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and is named after the Adamello mountain range in northern Italy. The lineup includes Clemens Linder and Nikolaus Kneser (violin), Susanne Linder (viola) and Adele Bitter (cello). Its repertoire ranges from classical-romantic chamber music to forgotten and contemporary works.

The DSO brass quintet was formed in 2007 by five musicians of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin who, alongside their orchestral work, develop their own thematically structured chamber music programmes. It made its debut at the Nordic Embassies in Berlin and has since performed at the Brandenburg Summer Concerts, the Auswärtiges Amt, and commemorative events such as the 50th anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s construction and the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, held at the residence of the British ambassador.

The ForumKonzerte have existed since 2004. The series grew out of an initiative by the “Forum der Freunde und Förderer” of the RIAS Kammerchor, which also gave it its name. The series is now in its 22nd season and has taken the choir to unusual Berlin venues such as the Kraftwerk Berlin-Mitte, museums, lecture halls and clubs.

The RundfunkchorLounge has been a fixed part of the programme since the 2016/17 season and was founded by Gijs Leenaars, chief conductor of the Rundfunkchor Berlin. Earlier editions addressed topics such as “Die Kunst des Alleinseins”, “Von Geld und Gier”, “Apokalypse” or climate change, always combining choral music, changing guest musicians and moderated discussions at the Heimathafen Neukölln.

Yes. The ROC visitor service at Charlottenstraße 56 (2nd floor) in Berlin-Mitte is the shared ticket and service point for the concerts of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Rundfunkchor Berlin and the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin.

Many classical concerts last about 90 to 120 minutes and include an intermission. Shorter formats may take place without one.

It is customary to applaud at the end of a complete work. Between individual movements, it usually stays quiet. If you are unsure, simply follow the lead of the other audience members.
