Our classical concerts at the Haus des Rundfunks Berlin 2024 & 2025

The Haus des Rundfunks in Masurenallee is the place where broadcasting was made big in Berlin. The two broadcasting halls have always served as a venue for public concerts - and where public concerts in Berlin and broadcasting come together, the ROC ensembles are naturally also present. Treat yourself to a concert in the Haus des Rundfunks in Berlin, a place steeped in history where Berlin radio developed to its full stature, and enjoy the magnificent acoustics that architect Hans Poelzig incorporated into this building!

ROC concerts at the Haus des Rundfunks Berlin

The Haus des Rundfunks Berlin is not only a place steeped in history - since 2003 it has been the headquarters of RBB and a broadcasting venue for rbbKultur, Inforadio and rbb 88.8. And above all, the two broadcasting halls serve as a venue for classical concerts by the ROC ensembles!

The large broadcasting hall is particularly special. At the time of its construction, the unusually large dimensions of almost 50 meters long and 25 - 34 meters wide posed a number of challenges for acousticians, especially as the hall was designed primarily for radio recordings, i.e. for the microphone.

After the Soviet era, the hall was in a very poor condition, which made extensive renovation work necessary.

Today, the Small Broadcasting Hall comes closest to the original state of Poelzig's design.

With these two halls, the Haus des Rundfunks Berlin offers a magnificent venue for classical concerts that can easily compete with the sound experiences of the Philharmonie Berlin or the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt Berlin. Experience an evening of powerful sound at this extraordinary venue, where the ROC ensembles will perform works by Beethoven, Mahler, Strauss, Stravinsky, Rachmaninov and many other composers who have shaped and continue to shape the history of music for you, giving you a musical treat of a special kind!
