ROC concerts at the Haus des Rundfunks Berlin
The Haus des Rundfunks Berlin is not only a place steeped in history - since 2003 it has been the headquarters of RBB and a broadcasting venue for rbbKultur, Inforadio and rbb 88.8. And above all, the two broadcasting halls serve as a venue for classical concerts by the ROC ensembles!
The large broadcasting hall is particularly special. At the time of its construction, the unusually large dimensions of almost 50 meters long and 25 - 34 meters wide posed a number of challenges for acousticians, especially as the hall was designed primarily for radio recordings, i.e. for the microphone.
After the Soviet era, the hall was in a very poor condition, which made extensive renovation work necessary.
Today, the Small Broadcasting Hall comes closest to the original state of Poelzig's design.
A world of musical variety at the Haus des Rundfunks
The concert programme at the Haus des Rundfunks is truly remarkable. Regular performances by our ROC ensembles offer a broad spectrum of classical music – from beloved masterpieces to rarely heard works and, above all, exciting new discoveries. This rich variety makes the Haus des Rundfunks an attractive destination for music lovers of all ages and tastes – you're sure to find a performance that will inspire and delight you.
To ensure you don’t miss your preferred concert, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Early booking is advised, as concerts at the Haus des Rundfunks are very popular and often sell out quickly.
Visit the Haus des Rundfunks and experience unforgettable musical moments. The combination of outstanding music, an impressive venue and a diverse programme makes every concert visit a truly special occasion.
With these two halls, the Haus des Rundfunks Berlin offers a magnificent venue for classical concerts that can easily compete with the sound experiences of the Philharmonie Berlin or the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt Berlin. Experience an evening of powerful sound at this extraordinary venue, where the ROC ensembles will perform works by Beethoven, Mahler, Strauss, Stravinsky, Rachmaninov and many other composers who have shaped and continue to shape the history of music for you, giving you a musical treat of a special kind!
