Festival ›Ultraschall Berlin‹ I
Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin
With this concert, Vitali Alekseenok makes his debut with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin – the Belarusian conductor, winner of the Toscanini Prize and author of "The White Days of Minsk", opens an evening at the Ultraschall Berlin festival that oscillates between a sense of loss and a burst of energy. In Lisa Streich’s "Black Swan," Tamara Stefanovich – who premiered the work with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra – transforms the piano into an eerie serenade that evokes both Schubert and honky-tonk. Iris ter Schiphorth’s "Zerstören II" crowns the program as a turbulent musical response to contemporary violence and political upheaval.
