Our Dvořák concerts in Berlin 2025
In his later years, Antonín Dvořák devoted himself exclusively to composing operas. However, this oeuvre is merely the capstone of a rich and varied oeuvre, from which not only Dvořák's nine symphonies, but also numerous other orchestral works, vocal music and chamber music emerged. The ROC ensembles offer you Dvořák concerts in Berlin that impressively demonstrate the full sonority of this most frequently performed Czech composer!

Dvořák concerts at the ROC in Berlin
The uniqueness of Dvořák's symphony “From the New World” from 1893 probably stands before everyone's eyes. It is not without reason that the symphony is one of his most popular and most frequently performed works. But the rest of Dvořák's rich and varied oeuvre also vibrates with his personality. Rather than a linear development, his work represents a constant reorientation, a search in Czech folklore, but also in religiosity, in nature and, last but not least, in the intoxicating joy of life.
Dvořák's symphonies & concertos - personal, masterfully orchestrated and simply beautiful
Dvořák was at home in many genres of classical music. However, he is best known and celebrated for his symphonies - above all the aforementioned 9th Symphony “From the New World” - and his concertos. The symphonies are bursting with melodic invention and rhythmic energy. Dvořák's first symphony, which was long lost and only premiered in 1923, is still strongly inspired by Beethoven, Schubert and Mendelssohn Bartholdy, but Dvořák himself is already increasingly evident in his compositions in the second symphony.
Dvořák's best-known concerto is probably the First Cello Concerto in B minor, which was also composed at the time of the “New World” Symphony. The concerto is considered one of the most impressive cello concertos of the Romantic period. However, his Piano Concerto and Violin Concerto, although less well-known, also possess extraordinary musical depth and the virtuosity typical of Dvořák.
The Dvořák concerts of the ROC ensembles in Berlin are an impressive testimony to this musical journey of discovery. Immerse yourself with us in this indescribable world that Dvořák opens up for us with his music.
