Our Brahms concerts in Berlin 2025
Johannes Brahms felt committed to the past. Composers such as Beethoven, Bach, Händel and Schumann had a great influence on him and he generally remained faithful to tradition. Nevertheless, he created an unmistakable, magnificent work of his own, which the ROC ensembles perform for you in their Brahms concerts in Berlin's grandiose venues!

ROC Brahms concerts in Berlin
Despite the peculiarity of essentially reverting to traditional forms in his compositions and creating music that was removed from historical change due to its timelessness, Brahms was already considered a legitimate successor to Beethoven during his lifetime and has since held a firm place among the most important composers of the 19th century.
Brahms' “Ein deutsches Requiem” writes music history
Brahms' work “Ein deutsches Requiem” is one of the most important works of choral music of the 19th century, which is performed time and again due to its great popularity - also and above all by the Rundfunkchor Berlin, which has developed a completely new approach to bringing this powerful work to its audience with its production “human requiem” together with Jochen Sandig and a team from Sasha Waltz & Guests.
“Ein deutsches Requiem” is up close and touching; unlike other requiems, it is not directed at the deceased, but addresses the suffering of the survivors and provides them comfort. It appeals to religious and non-religious people alike, as it takes a personal rather than a liturgical view of death, consolation and transience.
The “human requiem” by the Rundfunkchor Berlin makes it even more up-close and touching, as the singers walk through the audience during the performance and everything is interwoven: singing and reception, artists and listeners - and this gives you a particularly strong feeling of togetherness, of unity.
If you manage to get your hands on tickets for this special concert, you should definitely grab them - among all the special concerts that our ROC ensembles offer you in Berlin, this one stands out once again and simply has to be experienced once!

In their Brahms concerts, the ROC ensembles perform the works of the High Romantic composer Brahms in Berlin's grandiose venues - such as the Philharmonie Berlin or the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt - and provide you with magnificent evenings full of classical music that you will remember for a long time to come!
