Our Haydn concerts in Berlin 2026

Joseph Haydn is regarded as the father of the classical symphony and, alongside Mozart and Beethoven, is one of the three great Viennese classics. His works reveal not only incredible virtuosity, but also wit and charm. The ROC ensembles dedicate themselves to the composer's works in their Haydn concerts in Berlin's magnificent venues and give you a very special Haydn experience!

The next concerts of our ROC ensembles

Haydn concerts of the ROC in Berlin

Haydn is not only responsible for giving Germany a melody for its national anthem. He penned no fewer than 107 symphonies, numerous operas and masses and a veritable flood of chamber music. Haydn's work earned him a place in the upper echelons of the music world during his lifetime - as his friendship with Mozart and Beethoven alone testifies - and more than 200 years after his death, it is still being presented to appreciative audiences in concert halls around the world.

Joseph Haydn, the father of the symphony

His late works in particular, such as “The Creation” or “The Seasons”, ensure that Haydn - unlike Schubert, for example - was still able to reap his fame himself. However, it is above all his 107 symphonies for which he can confidently be called the “father of the symphony”. He did not invent it, but he gave it soul and structure. Our ROC ensembles express this soul magnificently in their Haydn concerts.

We bring Haydn's great symphonies such as Symphony No. 94 “With the Timpani”, Symphony No. 104 “London” or Symphony No. 45 “Farewell Symphony” back to life and give you a concert evening full of Haydn's wit and charm, full of his musicality and inventiveness, which you will remember for a long time to come.

Our ROC ensembles perform Haydn concerts in Berlin for you at the Philharmonie Berlin, the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt and other great venues where Haydn's music can be fully appreciated! Treat yourself to a Haydn concert by one of our ROC ensembles and enjoy Haydn's wonderful compositions live!
