Heras-Casado & Lisiecki
For a long time, Robert Schumann tried in vain to write a piano concerto that he considered successful. The Concerto in A minor ultimately stood up to his harsh judgment. It will be performed under the baton of Pablo Heras-Casado, who has reimagined Schumann’s Romanticism in his Harmonia Mundi series, and with Jan Lisiecki at the piano, one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation. In between, puppeteer Nikolaus Habjan brings a theatrical twist to the stage with "Con brio, for heaven’s sake. Con brio!!" And at the end, Beethoven’s Fifth thunders through the Philharmonie.
