Stasevska & Eberle

Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin

From the mysterious atmosphere of Icelandic landscapes in Thorvaldsdottir’s "Archora," the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin takes you to Sibelius’s ethereal Violin Concerto, performed by Veronika Eberle at the Philharmonie Berlin. Ligeti’s "Atmosphères" then opens up an imaginary musical space without contours – only states, only timbres. The evening concludes with Adams’ "Become Ocean": with overlapping groups of instruments, it evokes the dark magic of the sea – and Adams’ warning that we might become the ocean ourselves sooner than we think. Conducting is the versatile and daring Finnish conductor Dalia Stasevska.
