With his "Resurrection Symphony," Mahler shattered the conventions of classical concerts – with its massive ensemble, it takes the audience from the grave all the way to heaven. In the end, there is redemption: "I shall die to live!" The Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the Rundfunkchor Berlin will perform this monumental work under Susanna Mälkki, honorary chief conductor of the Helsinki Philharmonic and named Conductor of the Year 2017 by Musical America. The solo parts will be sung by Okka von der Damerau and Golda Schultz – both renowned Mahler interpreters.
