23 Apr Thursday, 19.30 Uhr Ballhaus Wedding

Chamber concert at Ballhaus Wedding

This evening is entirely dedicated to Johannes Brahms and Johann Strauss (the younger) – almost entirely, one might say, for sandwiched between these two Viennese masters of sound is Hugo Wolf with “An eine Äolsharfe”, a song based on a poem by Mörike in which sound, transformed into text, is transformed back into sound. Brahms also set the same Mörike poem to music – both versions are presented here side by side. A grand finale at the historic Ballhaus Wedding: Strauss’s “An der schönen blauen Donau”.
