The "New World," the Old World, Africa, and Black culture – this concert builds bridges between cultures, between countries, and above all, between people. Dvořák and Korngold brought their music to North America, most notably Dvořák with his popular 9th Symphony, "From the New World." Saxophonist and composer Steven Banks builds a very personal bridge between these worlds: His new work, "Come as You Are," takes its title from Nirvana’s 1991 song of the same name – classical meets grunge.
