The tragic love story of Tristan and Isolde is nearly a millennium old, yet it still touches people’s hearts – best known through Richard Wagner’s famous opera. The RIAS Kammerchor Berlin now presents a completely new perspective on it: the world premiere of "Le Roman de Tristan” by British composer Judith Weir, who in 2014 became the first woman to be appointed “Master of the Queen’s Music.” Choral compositions from a wide range of eras, which also celebrate love, frame the work.
