Matthäus-Passion
It has been exactly 300 years since Bach’s "St. Matthew Passion" was first performed. The RIAS Kammerchor Berlin, together with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, will perform this true monument of music history for you in the main hall of the Philharmonie. Principal conductor Justin Doyle is the ideal interpreter of this work: Passion music has been close to his heart since childhood, and his conducting thrives precisely on this contrast – the understated nobility of the quiet, introspective moments and the concentrated power of the choral scenes, in which the agitated crowd rages.
