What Jörg Widmann can’t do: hardly anyone knows. What he can do, however: conduct, compose, and play the clarinet. In this concert at the Berlin Philharmonie, he demonstrates all of these talents. Håkan Hardenberger – for whom Widmann composed his trumpet concerto "Towards Paradise" – will perform this very work together with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin. The program also features Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 1 – written by a composer who was just 15 years old at the time.
