The stars evoke infinite expanses; they are a place of longing, a metaphor for utopia – and also a sight of great beauty. This concert by the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by André de Ridder, combines Ligeti’s cold, avant-garde cosmic chills with Holst’s astrological romanticism. In between, Richter’s "Cosmology" is performed – a work the composer wrote specifically for organist Anna Lapwood and which André de Ridder himself premiered in May 2025 at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
