Wainwright’s "Dream Requiem" brings many elements together: the COVID-19 pandemic, a love of Verdi, the fulfillment of a lifelong compositional dream, and a timpani that has the final say. Kazuki Yamada will bring this monumental work – which premiered in 2024 – to the stage of the Philharmonie during his first season as the new chief conductor of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, together with the Rundfunkchor Berlin, narrator Iris Berben, and soprano Regula Mühlemann.
