Vladimir Jurowski conducts Mahler’s Symphony No. 6

Mahler’s Sixth is a somber musical monument: yet he composed "The Tragic," as it is also known, during the happiest period of his life – and even invented his own instrument for it, a wooden mallet struck against a resonating body. "I think I succeeded," said the composer himself about the finished work, which the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, under principal conductor Vladimir Jurowski, will perform at the Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus.
