Stanislav Kochanovsky & Jörg Widmann
One of today’s most celebrated German musicians meets one of the most successful Russian composers of the past: clarinetist and composer Jörg Widmann performs his own Fantasy for Clarinet and, together with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, his "Elegy." This will be followed by Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 1, whose premiere was conducted – and botched – by a drunk Alexander Glazunov (the debut hit Rachmaninoff so hard that he barely composed for three years). This will be different on this evening at the Konzerthaus Berlin!
