Frank Strobel conducts Charlie Chaplins Modern Times
Charlie Chaplin composed the music for his film "Modern Times" entirely on his own – by ear, without being able to read a single note. Man versus machine, against industrialization, against modernity: All of this is expressed in the music – and once, even in words: For the first time in a Chaplin film, his own voice can be heard as he sings the song "Titina." The Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin performs the film score live at the Konzerthaus, in sync with the screen. At the podium is Frank Strobel, a true advocate for Chaplin’s music, whom he conducts with pinpoint precision to match the images worldwide.
