Belshazzar

Händel was the first to bring the oratorio to the concert hall – in English! His “Belshazzar” premiered in 1745 and tells the story of the downfall of a megalomaniacal ruler – a dramatic tale with music that moves the listener and continues to resonate to this day. Justin Doyle, a leading Händel expert and chief conductor of the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin, will lead the choir and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin in this concert.
