State of Berlin
As the third largest shareholder, the State of Berlin holds 20% of the shares in the ROC, and in this way can derive great benefit from the four ensembles without having to shoulder the financial burden alone. Berlin’s Senate Administration for Culture and Europe has been headed by Senator Dr. Klaus Lederer since 2016, and deals with the ROC's interests, as it does for many other cultural organisations. It supports the cultural scene--both publicly funded and independent organisations--with financial and non-financial resources in order to maintain the German capital city’s character as a beacon, a centre for art and culture that is renowned around the world.
