In her Overture No. 1, Louise Farrenc commemorates Joseph Haydn's oeuvre, while deftly going beyond it. Jan Václav Voríšek treats Bach and Mozart in a similar way, connecting them with the style of a Chopin and Schubert. In conclusion, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin conducted by Václav Luks will play Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major—disregarded by the critics at the time, but in the meantime one of the works played most often in the genre.
