12 May Sunday, 20 Uhr Konzerthaus Berlin

Tarmo Peltokoski & Camilla Nylund

Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin

The 10th Symphony, premiered in 1953, was Shostakovich's first symphonic work since 1945 and since he had been dismissed from his teaching posts. Until Stalin's death, the symphony had disappeared into a drawer. Before the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin dedicates itself to this historic work, Richard Strauss' "Four Last Songs", which deal with death and farewell, will be performed.
