Following Dvořák’s rhythmic and dance-like Violin Concerto, which brims with passion and lyricism, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Simone Young, performs Korngold’s only symphony. It does not deny its connection to film music, yet is full of orchestral richness and romanticism – a highly personal soundscape.
