Together with the Rundfunkchor Berlin, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin will dedicate itself to Verdi's Messa da Requiem, which elicited the outcry "immaturity, tastelessness, and ugliness" from an indignant Hans von Bülow. Wrongly so, as the work's reception history shows. They will then perform Anna Thorvaldsdottir's "Heyr þú oss himnum á", which also has religious roots.
