The works in this concert are inspired by birds – by their freedom, their musicality, and the fact that they form a link between heaven and earth, between nature and music. The RIAS Chamber Choir Berlin, conducted by Justin Doyle, spans a period from the Renaissance to the 21st century; in between, birdcall expert Dr Uwe Westphal performs with deceptively realistic birdcalls – in the actually rather gloomy atmosphere of the Kraftwerk Berlin.
