People tend to reduce their associations with Hildegard von Bingen to herbal teas and fasting cures – though she was unequivocally the most significant female writer and composer of the Middle Ages. Members of the Rundfunkchor Berlin will perform the a cappella work "o vis aeternitatis", followed by Mahler's 7th Symphony, which, despite its great differences, also grew out of Hildegard von Bingen's compositions.
